3DMark is a benchmark program that determines the performance of certain components of a computer and then reports the performance as a numerical value. This enables you to compare your hardware with other components you don't own to estimate how much faster or slower your hardware is.
Here at GPU-Monkey we only use selected benchmarks for the graphics card, which are determined with a sufficiently fast processor so that the processor does not negatively affect the performance of the graphics card.
We chose the following benchmarks:
Time Spy - Graphics Score
Time Spy is a benchmark based on DirectX 12 and runs various graphics tests in a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The value given here is not the overall result of the test, but the determined value of the graphics performance.
Time Spy Extreme - Graphics Score
Time Spy Extreme is the same test as Time Spy but in a higher resolution of 3840x2160 pixels.
Fire Strike Extreme - Graphics Score
Fire Strike is a DirectX 11 based graphics benchmark that is available in 3 versions, Fire Strike (1920x1080), Fire Strike Extreme (2560x1440) and Fire Strike Ultra (3840x2160 / 4K). Since DirectX 11 has long since been replaced by DirectX 12 and is only rarely used, we have decided to only include one resolution in our list. We decided on the golden mean, namely Fire Strike Extreme (2560x1440).
PortRoyal
Port Royal is a pure ray tracing benchmark for graphics cards, so only one graphics score is determined here. The test is performed in a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and can only be run if the graphics card supports ray tracing. This is the case for NVIDIA starting with the GeForce RTX 2000 series and AMD starting with the Radeon 6000 series.
Speed Way - Graphics Score
Speed Way is the latest 3DMark test released in 2022 and is based on DirectX 12 Ultimate and Raytracing technology. The graphics are rendered at Speed Way with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels.
